Business owners should be accountable for their actions...all actions. If you are going to use Groupon as an avenue to build your business then you as a business owner should follow the rules and stipulations. First off the owner complained that we used a Groupon two consecutive days in a row...NOT our problem...HIS! Second the owner complained that the Groupon could not be used on Valentine's Day...again NOT our problem and the days listed in Groupon that the coupon could not be used absolutely did not stipulate Valentine's day. Negative gestures like the above and uncaring comments and greediness about $20-$25 dollars shows that the managers and owners that were present do NOT have the customer's best interest at hand. The other unfortunate ingredient to this distasteful evening is that I have been to this restaurant several times and the person I was with has been a loyal patron for years. ..Not anymore. Rodney (one owner) does not take care of his people or patrons...he should find another line of work. Will food quality be next? The other restaurant location in Brickell is now closed,,,wonder why?

Noted for its influences from Spain, China, Italy, West Africa, and Japan, this dining spot was such the diverse treat. Modern, sleek and sultry are a few words that come to mind when setting foot on this gem of a place. True to form, I came here for the SPICE menu. No shortage of camote (sweet potato) or cancha (corn) here! First served was the Tiradito en Aji Amarillo - sashimi style of fish marinated in lime juice and lightly spiced with a hint of mild Aji Amarillo. A wonderful amuse bouche! Then, Pescado a la Chorrillana - grilled fish filet covered with roasted bell peppers and served with sautéed julienne veggies, served over a red pepper and parsley sauce. Light and flavorful! Topped off with Suspiro a la Limeñax - Limean for a Woman's Sigh. Lime love with a hint of meringue. Devine! If you've never dined at Peruvian place before this place will leave feeling like a Peruvian gastronimist. Next stop, Machu Picchu!

If you're in Key Biscayne, chances are you're struggling to find a place to eat. The chances are also good that you'll drive by El Gran Inka and see that it's filled with customers on a consistent basis (good sign). We decided to try this infamous Peruvian place for lunch. Seating is both indoor and outdoor, though the place is really quite small. We ended up sitting inside which was very nicely decorated. Menus are very diverse and everyone in the group found something good to order. Service was low-key but fine, despite the reviews of others, though we were a big group. The food was all great, and the ceviche was especially good with a unique citrus/garlic flavor to it. The meat dishes were also very good, and cooked as ordered. Even the kids meal chicken strips were exception, breaded with japanese panko bread crumbs! They only get 4/5 stars due to the prices, which are a bit inflated.

I went when it just opened the the service was awful. I decided to give it another chance since I figured they had a chance to get the kinks out. I have to say the food at this place is really good. The service was good and much improved. The restaurant is very nice and has outdoor seating. The portions are small and the price is very expensive. Having so many Peruvian restaurants around, I rather go to a cheaper one. Albeit not as "classy".

Checked this place out randomly while in Key Biscayne. It is pretty nice inside. The wait staff is pretty low key. It was hard to get their attention for most of the evening. The food was hit and miss for us. My wife ordered a tamale type of dish as an app which was really good. I had a beef dish which I thought was pretty good. But her main dish was with shrimp and sea bass and she could barely eat it. The fish had a very strong smell which was strange as I have cooked Sea Bass a lot and never noticed before. The prices were pretty high and the service could have been a lot better. Check the menu out before you eat at the place to make sure it is something you want to try and are willing to pay for.

I was very disappointed with the Fish Ceviche. Peruvian restaurant are known for their Ceviches and for the Corvina Fish. At El Gran Inka in North Miami the Ceviche is not prepared with Corvina, is prepared with Basa Fish. Basa is a family of the Cat Fish a river fish. Inexpensive and known to have lots of mercury. The Ceviche I ate was tough. The management did acknowledge that it was Basa. The Conchas a la Parmesana were dried. Very bad experience.

Ate here the other night. Very impressed overall. Good decor, good crowd, good music and great food. Started with the Seafood Ceviche - Ceviche De Mariscos and it was fresh and delicious. For entrees we had the Meat Lovers Fried Rice (Chaufa- Style) - Arroz Chaufa Tres Sabores and the Green Linguini And Steak - Tallarin Verde Y Churrasco. Both were excellent. I agree with others who say this place ain't cheap but it is definitely in line with everything else in Aventura (huge portions).

Food was good on the whole. It is not cheap. Lomo saltado was very good, pisco sours very good. Nice decor, can sit outside across from Oleta River park

fancy interior but the service didn't match nice presentation but on the expensive side... sauces were decent, but the seafood ingredients could be refresher i.e. mariscos dish didn't really have great shellfish had papa rellena, chicha morada

Prior to arriving at the restaurant I called to check their hours for dinner and not once was I informed that I would have to make a reservation. When we got there, the hostess asked for one. She said that if we didn't have a reservation she could seat us but that it would be a wait for the food because they are only staffed for the reservations. I see what everyone says about the wait time, but I was willing to deal with it because I was told in advance. I was okay with this, figured it would just be a nice night out and have drinks while waiting patiently, well I was wrong!!! Our drinks did come out first, but there was never a refill or an offer to refill our beverages. When we finally asked for a refill we were told they were out of the drink and offered something else. No problem, I needed something to drink, but even that drink NEVER CAME!!!!! I want to note that the restaurant was not even full and they were well staffed so to wait as long as we did for a non alcoholic drink was absurd. Another thing I disliked was that my dish was almost identical to the appetizer as far as the sauce, seafood and flavor, and since I have never eaten there before I would have expected the waiter to let me know so that I may try a different selection, but clearly he didn't care and never introduced himself or came to even check if our main courses were alright. The other dish we had ordered was half over-cooked. I understand this may happen while it sat there in a warm plate while it waited for my dish to be ready but how does only half of the dish come overcooked? I also used a LivingSocial voucher for the dinner, but what they fail to tell you is that when they charge your credit card, they already include the tip. Nowhere on the menu does it say that tip is included, and when I told the waiter about the voucher before we ordered, he never mentioned it either. So I guess he thought with poor service he would still get his guaranteed tip. I don't use LivingSocial to be cheap; rather, I use it to try new things in a difficult economy. Had he actually brought my drink or refilled it, then I would have left the waiter a 20-25% tip of the total bill, BEFORE the discount. To make matters worse, when I received the check to sign, the original bill was not included nor was I informed that tip was already added so it looked like I had to add the tip. This didn't look right so I did ask for my original bill (they failed to give me this when they brought the cc slip) and the waiter THEN told me about the added gratuity. Way to scam people for awful service!!!! My advice is that this place is overrated and I will certainly not be a patron in the future.

A friend of mine sent me a link to Miami Spice and the participation of this restaurant so we decided to go. If there was a category of 2 and 1/2 stars that is what I would put. The decor when you walk in looks quite nice. However, we ended up being put in a back area that was not as nice as the area close to the bar. The lighting was very dark, there were TVs on the walls showing soccer games and the music was very loud. Is this a Sports Bar or a Peruvian restaurant? My wife ordered the tiradito with aji amarillo and then the Tacu Tacu with mariscos. I ordered the Pulpo al Olivo and the Lomo Saltado. None of the dishes were bad but they were not wow either. My wife believes her fish was previously frozen. Both of us agreed that the dishes were missing a bit of seasoning ( my wife is Peruvian and I have been to Peru in the 20-40 times range ). If you have never been to Peru or had good Peruvian food you would probably like the food. Neither of us was impressed by the service. Again, it was not bad service but neither was it very well polished. The service is what downgraded the restaurant in my opinion from a 3 to a 2 and 1/2. The bill for 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes and 4 vodka tonics , no dessert before tip was $125. The week before we had gone to Casa Dangelo in Ft Lauderdale (very highly rated in Zagats) and paid $ 180 (before tip) for 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes, a shared desser and a bottle of wine. Will I pay $55 more to go to Casa Dangelo rather than return to Gran Inka. You bet.

I was in Miami on business, I went to this restaurant by chance as it was right near my hotel. I really loved the food, the seafood was very fresh. I had the ceviche which was very delicious. I love the spicy sauce combination plate, there were four salsas and they tasted great! A bit pricey though.

  • Andres A.

The restaurant is not in the best location as it is in a strip mall next to a supermarket. The place is also quite small and the tables seems to be too close to each other. Still, I love the food. My favorite dishes are the corvina ceviche, the tamale, the chupe and the lomo salteado. It is a bit pricey but I like the food and go there often.

  • Jon M.

Pretty average overall. We ordered an app and an entree and both were just about average. The service was not good at all and the only time we saw our server was when she took our order or delivered our food(didn't check in at all). I'd try to avoid as it is nothing special.

THE SERVICE AT THIS PLACE IS THE WORST!!! Even though we had reservations, we had to wait twenty minutes to be seated. On our way to the table, the host told us he was sorry but he had to seat another party before us!!! Another ten minutes at the table before waiter came over and we had to request bread and water. Food, considering cost of the entrees, is not worth it. I've eaten better for less. NEVER going back to this place.

Went here with a groupon and got a table full of food, the ceviche is incredible and i cannot recall the names of the plates that we got but they were amazing too, very good food and fresh also. The service was alright and the waiters ties were dirty which looked not so clean. Careful they charge gratuity i don't know if its because we had a groupon or they do that to everyone but it was not cool, one must earn their tip not take it from customers. all in all if you can overcome the price then it is worth would be back.

The food is fabulous .....I read these other reviews and I'm shocked that they received less than 5 stars....the ambience is sexy and the octopus and tuna ceviche is outstanding ....prices are reasonable and some nights they have live music ....love this place

This will be my 589th yelp review and the first time I have rated a restaurant only one star. The management here is atrocious. We came to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. We placed a reservation and notified them that we'd be bringing our own liquor; over the phone, the manager quoted us a $25 cork fee. We arrived at the restaurant during prime dinner hours to find it completely empty. There was nice booth seating at the middle of the restaurant which we liked, but they could not seat us because the entire section was reserved. They tried to seat us right next to the kitchen and bathroom which we refused; we compromised at booth seating on the perimeter of the restaurant. Again, all of this occurred while the restaurant was completely empty. The waiter pleasantly greeted us and explained the specials in exquisite detail. He was fantastic. Simply a true professional. We asked the waiter to bring over some whiskey glasses because we brought our own bottle. Soon after, the manager came over and asked us what we were drinking. She then informed us that the cork fee she quoted us over the phone only applies to wines. She then told us that she would do us a favor by only charging $49 per bottle. After this we paid out drink bill and promptly left. This was the single worst customer service interaction I've ever had with management. I sympathize for wait staff which relies on good business for tips.

This place used to be really good, but the last two times I've been there were really disappointing experiences. The service is slower than ever, the food is not the same they used to serve in the past and their prices went even higher. Unfortunately, they just kept the name and lost the good things about them. Fortunately, other good options for Peruvian food came out lately in the area. This place won't be missed when they are gone.

I went with my family yesterday and we had a wonderful time to start with the delicious food and the friendly service . We ate a great cut of meat and also the fish and sea food was great. Fantastic flavours and different presentations. The dessert and cappuccino complete the evening. I strongly recommend !!!

Wow! What a great spot. I'm a ceviche fan and their ceviche rocks! Help I have a ceviche addiction!!! Ana took excellent care of us, she was very personable and friendly without being intrusive. We had the ají de gallina and octopus and wow. Everything was delicious. Mouth watering. I've been to the one in key biscayne and Brickell but this time I fell in love. I am definitely coming back for more. don't for details to try their pisco sour. This place is a gem stone.

The place is nice, the food is good and not over priced. big screens for night games and no too packed, this is a good point. They should get a better wine selection.

Decent food but spotty service. I sat for a good 10 minutes after I asked for a hot tea, ready to order while having to endure a loud and obnoxious family of what sounded like 100 across from me. Of course, the restaurant can't control what kind of people visit but it took the atmosphere from classy to trashy. My Inka salad was quite nice, with hearts of palm and avocado, although it should have cost $9 not $12. The octopus a la parilla should have been a lot better since it's one of their specialties. It hadn't been tenderized, hence it was extremely rubbery. Also way too salty. Probably one of the worst octopus preparations I've had. Definitely not a $23 dish, cut that in half and I am being generous. The lucuma tart the waiter recommended had a nice caramel flavor but I didn't care for the flan-like texture. I just don't do flan, panna cotta, jello or baby food, so I sent it back for the chocolate terrine. It was a very rich and buttery cross between a truffle and chocolate cake, good but not memorable. While I was eating, I had three waiters ask me how everything was about 30 seconds apart. A little overkill and poor timing. Then when I was ready to pay, I sat with a dirty dessert plate and no waiter in sight for about 10 minutes. Several waiters passed by while I stared them right in the face. I finally waived a manager over asking to pay. Of course, they added an 18% gratuity for what was 15% service at the very best. Shouldn't it be voluntary if it's a gratuity? Otherwise it should be called a service charge. Stay away from this place. Overpriced and mediocre.

Upscale ambience with very reasonable pricing. The food is worth the trip. Music volume was perfect. We could have a conversation and not yell across the table.

Came here after purchasing a groupon and we were delighted to have discovered this place. Our waiter was pleasant, the customer service here is very good. By far the best lomo saltado I have tried and I eaten quite a few at various Peruvian restaurants. The portions are a little smaller than moats but it's worth it.

The salmon tiradito was great, and the Lomo saltado was one of the better ones I've had. I'd also recommend the ceviche sampler. The pisco sours were a little small, though. I anticipated bad service after reading the previous reviews but that wasn't the case. Hostess and waiter were both pretty attentive. I would recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

Nice ambient, friendly service and good price! The presentation of the food was really good! I hd a Lomo (skirt steak) with vegetables. Could be better, because the vegetales were not well seasoned as it should, but the meat was good! Price is fair (lunch time)! Recommended!

I would not recommend to anyone who enjoys good pleasant service, anyone on a budget or looking for authentic peruvian food. FOOD: Food was good, a little on the salty side but high quality meat and good preparation. Unfortunately they do not serve Aji Verde (Peruvian Green Chili Sauce) and are not familiar with it. WTF?! DECOR: Fairly upscale from the custom decor to the trancy samba fusion playing at just the right volume. SERVICE: As expected from a any place that treats itself as an upscale restaurant service was prompt but snooty. Jorge was pleasant attentive but seemed aggrevated when we asked questions and only asked for one entree to share. The rest of the staff seemed like drugged up zombie drones and full of arrogant rude stares. PRICE: Expensive but Peruvian restaurants generally over price. Small portions for entree. I cannot say the food was bad but something left a bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to like this place and will give it a second chance but hope they get it together by then.

What could have been this restaurants biggest night turned into their biggest nightmare . We paid our $25 cover to see the fight . Outdoor TV not working Large indoor TV not working 2 Small bar TV working but no sound after the national anthem . Angry patrons everywhere .... Waitresses crying ... Next time check your equipment and hire a tech to stay with the event or don't offer to host again . We were offered a limited menu outside and find out they had a full menu inside . Terrible experience for us .

Both the food and service here are absolutely incredible! I had the A Lo Macho and the taste was simply delicious. All of the food is well-cooked and the seafood is fresh. The chef also takes special attention to the presentation of the food, which is a much appreciated added touch. The service is extremely high and the servers take special attention to make sure your taken care of. The location is also beautiful, and their is plenty of parking so you don't have to worry about not finding a parking spot. Ultimately, I abosolutley love El Gran Inka and I highly recommend it.

  • Mayra Q.

El Gran Inka has a very nice atmosphere and is a great restaurant for a romantic night out or special occasion. The service was excellent but the food, in my opinion, was a little bit overpriced. The appetizers were excellent, beautiful presentation! I felt like my entree (pescado novoandino) was bland, it was missing a sauce to tie it all together. My husband had the picante de camarones which was just ok, he felt like it was missing something in comparison to other picantes in other restaurants. My grandma loved her chupe de camarones and my mom was delighted with the skirt steak with chimichurri. Overall, the food is good with some room for improvement. When the bill came I was somewhat shocked that the Pisco Sours were north of $13 apiece. With a few tweaks this could be an excellent dining option, right now i'd say its pretty good and i would return in a few months.

  • Jane P.

honestly the food is probably 3.5 stars but the service was ridiculous. Such kind people that went out of their way to accommodate my family many times. The waiters will go totally above and beyond to describe every dish and ceviche to you. Ideal meal here is ceviche. Just get a bunch of them and wash down with a few drinks. If you want to be healthy or whatever add a quinoa salad to the mix. The entrees are decent but I don't think they compare to the ceviche which is always very fresh and packs a punch. Make sure you like spicy food.

  • Jaime S.

First time I went there I liked it a lot. The 2nd time was no good. The waiter was rude and unprofessional. So we cut our order to just the appetizers. Of course, just left 2.00 tip to show that moron he needs to learn how to treat clients. Well, decided to give them another chance and went again for the 3rd time. Guess what? Got the same stupid waiter who apparently does not forget about low tipping clients. Because he behaved like a complete moron once again. At this point I just had a ceviche and left him a whopping tip of zeroooo point zerrrrooo dollars. They can shove that inka where the sun don't shine.

  • Maria M.

The service here was good, but slow, even on a day when it was not busy. When I told the server that it was my first time trying Peruvian cuisine, she suggested a drink called the Chicha Morada - Delicious! My dish was a veal plate with a spiced peas & carrots, beans, marinated onions, and rice. The presentation of the dish was gorgeous, and the flavor was impeccable. They took basic ingredients and created something I had never tasted before. My friend had the Lomo Saltado, and it was also delicious. I would go back just for the Chicha Morada! Atmosphere - 3, Décor -5, Food - 5, Service - 3.5

Good service, good food, nice atmosphere, but the music is way too loud and the prices are dear, compared to other Peruvian restaurants of the same kind. They do make a mean grilled octopus ($22, main course)

Went with a friend had a great time with great food and a wonderful 50% off wine by bottle Mondays & Tuesdays . The wine lost is extensive and the food menu was amazing. The waitress was fab. Can't remember her name but she's fun and adorable. The staff was very good with good service which for Miami is amazing.

We ordered three appetizers: ceviche (2 kinds) and octopus, all were excellent. For the main course: octopus ( two orders) one was kind of chewy and tough , other was tender but both were a little too salty for our taste, The presentation freaked me out though, it was a huge octopus tentacle on the plate, I couldn't finish it just because the way it looked. Other entree was veal hearts, it was good, little salty again, but unique. costumer service was good.

The food is 4 stars. Unfortunately, the service brings it down for us. I have been here twice, ordering beef and steak dishes, and both tasted very good. Unfortunately, on our last visit, the server disappeared for at least 10 minutes after we were served our meal. I had wanted to request something additional to accompany my dish, but our server was nowhere to be seen. We requested water. However, we didn't find out until we got the check that we were being charged $7/bottle. There was nothing to tell us that this place wasn't like Blue Collar or City Hall--serving quality and/or filtrated water at no additional charge. We were presented the check with an 18% gratuity added (we were a party of two). Because of the low quality of service, I left cash that corresponded to a 15% gratuity. The person who took the check came back and told us that because we used a Groupon, the gratuity needed to be 18%. As frequent Groupon users, we didn't think that this was the case. So, we inspected the wording on the Groupon. We showed him that this was not stated anywhere on the Groupon. I told him I left a 15% gratuity on the pre-tax, pre-Groupon amount. He didn't quite seem to understand that because he left, came back, and made the same argument. He ultimately conceded, with a bit of attitude. Like I said, the food was very good. But there are plenty of restaurants with good food whose service doesn't negatively affect my dining experience.

The chicken deal was delicious the chicken was very moist in the yellow sauce. The rice had a hint of flavor and married well with the chicken. There was cheese on the side and wasn't sure how that was suppose to be incorporated into the meal. The waitress Erica was extremely nice and helpful. Overall the meal was enjoyable

3/8/12 - Dinner ENVIRONMENT The restaurant is located in a strip mall in North Miami Beach. The overall decor of the restaurant was well design for the local. The inside of the restaurant was slightly dark. FOOD * Fish Ceviche with Aji Amarillo: Their ceviche has just the right amount of flavor and acidity. *Ceviche mixto: Perfect blend of sour and spicy. Not too much of either. Everything tasted very fresh. * Avocado Misti - Shrimp with salad surrounded by avocado. It tasted very mayo-ie and was tasteless *Parmesan Scallops - Also extremely tasteless. Save your money -- do not order this dish. DOWNSIDES Horrible Service - I asked the waiter for a fork and and he looked at me like I was speaking Chinese. Most of the waiters seemed like they did not speak any English. The restaurant barely had any patrons and the service was extremely slow. I can't imagine the service on a busy night. I would only go back to this restaurant for CEVICHE, however I would not recommend any of their other dishes.

I love the ceviche! For a great server ask for Jorge, he is the best. The food is great, the wines are well priced and the ambiance is easy, casual and relaxed. I continue to return here and will continue to recommend it to my friends.

3.5 rounded up to 4 because the food was really good. We met some friends and their 2 kids for dinner. The location was easy to find on 163rd/SR 826 in North Miami Beach. We arrived for dinner and the restaurant is kind of dark inside, but not as dark as the bathrooms, which had barely any light at all...they should probably un-dim the lights a little, at least in the bathroom. I could barely see! The service was a little slow. For example, I ordered a Cusquena beer ($5.95) and it was at least 5 minutes before they brought it over, and they were not busy at 7:30pm when we arrived. The beer was just sitting there on the bar for several minutes. They were not quick to come over and ask if we wanted anything else after we ordered either. So why 4 stars? the food was excellent. My wife & I shared a causa with shrimp ($12.95) and it was really fantastic - my wife said it was amazing and she is usually very picky about Peruvian food (she's from Lima). For our appetizers, she had a lomo saltado ($18.95), as did another diner. I tried some and it had an excellent grilled flavor. Although it was kind of pricey at compared to other Peruvian restaurants, and it was not a huge portion like you normally see, the unique flavor came from marinating the lomo in pisco, and this gave the meat a great flavor and blended well with the other ingredients. I heard the ceviche was good, so I went with the ceviche mixto - the other ingredients besides fish were shrimp, calamari, choclo, red onions and sweet potato. It was authentic and tasted very good...they asked how spicy I wanted it and I said "medio picante" but it was more mildy spicy than medium spicy - maybe they didn't want to put too much ahi because I'm a gringo but next time I will ask for spicy. We also sipped on a tasty jarro de chica morada. Our other diners had aji de gallina and the kids ate fried fish with fries. Everyone enjoyed their food. The decor and ambiance is intimate, romantic, a little dark inside as I mentioned. Halfway through our meal a dude started playing saxophone, but that was mostly out on the patio. I will go back to El Gran Inka, even though the service is a little sub-par, and I feel they are a tad bit overpriced, the food is the most important thing and they know how to make great Peruvian food here, so it's worth it.

Came for lunch with the hubby. We started with ceviche mixto. So good! I ordered a sea bass with cilantro sauce and a skewer of scallops. It was delicious. $33. It was a bit over priced for the size but nonetheless was good. My hubby on the other hand ordered a lobster bisque, $17 we figured it would be a bowl, think again it was a tiny cup. Very disappointed. The flavor was pretty good but not great. Specially not $17 great. Anyways the waitress was nice. The weather was wonderful. Overall a pretty good experience. I'm giving it 3 stars because its way too overpriced and my hubby's lunch turned out to be the size of a small appetizer.

WOW! That's all I can say when I remember the 2 ROACHES I saw last week coming out from the kitchen! I was on my way to the bathroom and the kitchen is right next to it...but the worst part isn't the roaches...is how the chef (or helper, whoever he was) saw my shock reaction and went to get one of the roaches with the hand and smile to my face like nothing had happened!!! There's nothing else I can say, I'm still in shock...I had to write this review because I did not know what else to do...this place looks nice outside, but inside its a filthy and nasty kitchen!!!!!!!! DON'T EAT THERE! Plus the service before that accident was terrible..never again...

When I have a craving for ceviche I run to El Gran Inka. They make the best ceviche its perfectly seasoned and it is fresh. The anticuchos served with grilled fingerling potatoes is the BEST in town. Way better than any overpriced high-end Peruvian Restaurant in Miami. My husband did not believe me so I took him there and he agreed with me. Can't wait to return for these two dishes.

We tried the jalea imperial. Very good however only found one measly shrimp. Overpriced but thank god for groupon. Too expensive without it...

The food is great but the service is slow. They also added the tip to our bill and gave us a hard time about it paying the bill and tipping as we wish. Food is wonderful but poor management and business practice.

rounded down from 3.5. First off expect to pay 25% more and get 25% less then any other Peruvian restaurant. I was ok with this going in esp. with a groupon. Fish ceviche was very good hot sauce served on the side.Had the Mahi Mahi for the main. Cooked well a little under seasoned but it wasn't mahi mahi. The fish was much too dense and meaty for Mahi and they left a very fishy bloodline on one edge. 6 oz, portion control and no sides thank god for the side order of cilantro rice. Fried rice pudding desert was a delight with a very light not sweet sauce over it!

Food was good but get ready to be disappointed by the options available on their Miami Spice menu and they will also not honor the yelp special currently posted. Hopefully they can get their service issues fixed because the food is decent. Also plan on waiting a while for your drinks and food, we were so frustrated with the service that it was not worth arguing about the 18% tip included in our check. A 20 minute wait for pre-made dessert is unacceptable if you ask me. I would gladly pay 18%++ tip for good service but what we received was far from it. Won't be going back.

The ambiance is nice, the food presentation was awesome, but that is it... This place very bad service, everyone got there food except for one of us, and they said it was coming, the only problem was that we already finished our meals, so we asked to cancel the order because for one... The people that served us were not very welcoming, they seemed more annoyed then happy, and the food really was all just show, definitely not worth the money compared to other Peruvian restaurants, and finally they tried to make us pay for the dish we canceled by LYING and saying we ordered it later on in the dinner and after we won the argument, they just literally dropped the meal on our table in a take out bag as a way of saying "screw off", and then they came left the dish on our table. El Gran Inka? More like El Gran Inka-Paz (Spanish joke)

1star b/c the food was just horrible. We (2) visited the NMB restaurant on a Sunday around 8pm. I should've known better when I noticed the place pretty empty - only three other tables were occupied. The Corn Kernels tasted like if they were fried in old, rancid oil. The CEVICHE $15 was ok, but I didn't like that the fish was cut into large chunks. This doesn't allow for the flavor of the lime to absorb in each piece. Also, the Corvina had too much of the white skin on it and it made it too chewy :( Also ordered the MAHI MAHI A LO MACHO $22 (recommended by the waiter) and it was completely tasteless. A lot of sauce, but absolutely no taste. I could tell that the the Mahi Mahi was PREVIOUSLY FROZEN, dry, and maybe even petrified! The seafood that came in the sauce was super stiff - completely inedible... Ordered the STUFFED YUQUITAS and this was the only dish that tasted fresh as if they were just fried. After a horrible meal, I didn't want to bother with dessert and just ordered an espresso, which was very watered-down. I was hoping to eat some fresh, tasty Peruvian food, but instead I was served a FROZEN, TASTELESS meal for double the cost of other restaurants. Don't bother with this place, there are too many other restaurants that can cook up some fresh, mean dishes.

Nice ambiance, nice wait staff, but raw chicken was served in the Chifa style sweet and sour chicken. Unacceptable! Be sure to cut your chicken before you bite into it. When I told the manager, he was not nearly as mortified as I would have expected. Since we were using a groupon, he said we could either use the groupon or he would take 10 percent off the bill (minus a drink and the inedible dish.) Not exactly what I would say the best way to handle a potential food borne illness situation. Will not be buying anymore groupons or anything for that matter from gran inka again. We will be looking elsewhere for our Peruvian fix next time.

An absolute great experience. From the seating to final dessert. Both my wife's & my dinner was prepared perfectly and tasted delicious. We both ordered different Peruvian dishes as well as the dessert. I honestly don't work nor know anyone associated, being from Illinois but rally want to give the place & employees our sincerest thanks for a great dining experience. Can't say enough. Oh, Mojitos are perfectly made also.

Been here many times (multiple locations, though the brickell one is now closed). Food seems consistent, tasty steak on the lomo saltado (not too chewy/fatty), chicken in Peruvian sauce is always good. Environment is nice. Also the pisco sours are pretty good here too. I have tried multiple appetizers, I have been pleased with them all. No complaints.

First time there the other night and I really like what they have there. The decor is upscale, but not too over the top. We tried the Avocado gratin, salmon dish, and seafood gratin among a few other things. I like all of them. I can have avocado gratin everyday. That's how good it is. Somewhat pricy, but with Groupon or other discounts, it'd be great deal.

Just tried El Gran Inka again fot the second time I was having a craving for peruian food. We started off with the house salad, abnd shared it $9.95. It has field greens, baby corn, hearts of palm, cherry tomato, haas avocado, and asparagus. Also served was a homemade dressing that was really good. We also shared the shrimp ceviche wow was it good fresh shrimp, red onion, peruvian corn, and red pepper, we added a little bit of spice $15.95. For dinner we both got the aji de galinna $12.95. Overall food, service , and atmosphere were great. I definately will be going back.

As other reviewers have stated, the seafood ceviche is the main feature of Inka. If you love ceviche, bring your ass to this place! For anything else, break out the cook books, fire up the candelabra and stay at home. Usually it's good here, but the menu has changed as of late and they do not make our favorite lamb dish anymore. Our server Luciano was so sweet, and always kept our glasses full-up. Be forewarned though, the new menu is entirely in Spanish. I could see how this might be very irritating for someone whose native language is something other than Spanish. You mightn't know what you're ordering because there isn't even an English subtitled menu under the Spanish one. My husband found a nice green rubber band in his aquadito de pollo soup, and we were very sick from the last time we ate there. He is too nice to say anything and didn't want me to bring it up to the chef, I guess I should feel glad that there wasn't a finger surprise in the soup instead. To be honest with you, for a 94.00 bill at lunchtime, restaurants needn't be so sloppy, especially when they are empty and you are the only two people in there. In economic times like these, restaurants better start stepping up and doing better because it makes me want to just cook at home from now on. I've had too many disappointing experiences lately, so much so that it brings me great relief to know that I'm more than decent at throwing down in the kitchen.

I pretty much always order delivery for the same. Lomo Saltado and causa de pollo. Both are really good. However, delivery takes forever. They always say its busy but I've ordered on very slow hours and don't live that far away. Once, I had to go to work and my food never arrived. Of course, no apology or money refund. So, if you are planning on ordering delivery, have in mind you better not be super hungry and be willing to wait. I'll give it 2 stars just because food is good.

Coming from part Peruvian heritage and new to this area of Miami I was highly excited to try this restaurant. But I can honestly say I was majorly disappointed. The food was horrible and very bland. Our waitress was inattentive towards our party. It wasn't till after she took our order did she return to tell us the "salamander" was broken, nor could we order anything from the grill. I can honestly say I will never return to this restaurant but continue to go to 29th & Biscayne to Sabor a Peru for better quality and quantity Peruvian dishes. Sabor a Peru is a million times better than this, you will save more money and get a higher quality and quantity of food.

I've never eaten at a Peruvian restaurant until we ate at El Gran Inka. They are located in strip mall in what I'd consider North Miami Beach (just south of Aventura), directly next to Outback Steakhouse. I would rate them higher however we've gone twice with mixed results. The interior of Inka is nicely decorated and they have a covered outside area where you can eat as well. On our first visit we had lunch inside and came back several months later to have dinner outside. If you choose to eat outside please keep in mind that Outback is right next door. You can certain see and hear the people coming and going. The service was alright. On our first visit we got cooked corn kernels with salt when seated and were told the specials. Bread followed shortly. On our second visit (Saturday night) the cooked corn kernels were cold, we didn't hear specials and we didn't get bread. Overall I was fine with our server. I certainly know to flag someone down if I want something. On both visits we had the Seafood Ceviche, which I personally think is out of this world. We also had the Portobello-Roquefort Tenderloin, which is probably the best thing on the menu. On my second visit I had the King Size Veal Chop, which was good but certainly didn't compare with some items we've had on the menu. Deserts were very small for the price. Our meal for 2 people included: Seafood Ceviche, Portobello-Roquefort Tenderloin, King Size Veal Chop, 2 glasses of wine, one mixed drink and 2 deserts came to $130 including 20% tip.

The place was very nice , food was just ok. Poor and very slow service. Gratuity of 18% which is already included on your check . No wonder they include the tip because I will not give the waiter an 18% tip with the poor service that we received. I will not be dining there again.

It was the best meal I had in South Florida. The food was exquisite and the service was exceptional. It was Miami Spice week so we stuck with that menu and a bottle of white wine. The appetizers were a fish in a mustard sauce and Causa de Pollo. So delicious. The main courses were chicken w/ mushrooms in a sauce and steak pieces with a sweet potato mash both served with jasmin rice. Desert was like a pumpkin cheesecake and a type of flan. My boyfriend and I were in Inka heaven. :-P The servers were very attentive and friendly and the ambiance was delightful. I definitely recommend this place for lunch and can only assume dinner is just as awesome.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Not only was the food fresh, it was authentic!!!! I am Peruvian and this place took me back to my childhood. My husband who is Cuban said it was the best meal he's had in a long time. I think this place has definitely become my favorite place. The ambiance was excellent, our waitress was excellent and the food...ohhhh the food was SOOOOOOOO GOOD! Our Meal consisted of papa la huancaina, Pisco sour, Lomo Saltado, Antichuchos & my hubby had Lemon Chicken for his main plate.....Everything was terrific and as it should be. I can't wait to go back! I am so happy that I found it! I was too full for dessert. I wish they made Peruvian picarones...because then OMGGGGGG!!!!! I have to add that this is the first Peruvian restaurant that has gotten everything JUST RIGHT! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 02/2011-Went here with my family for my birthday dinner. It was equally good and the waiter, Ricardo was THE BEST!!!!!!! He was Peruvian and made the night memorable. He was awesome! If you go, ask to be seated with him...nothing against any other race, but if you are Peruvian, you will enjoy Ricardo's company because he had alot of Peruvian Memories! My family LOVED him!!!!! LOL My family shared Cake De Lúcuma...yummy goodness!

This was my first Peruvian Cuisine experience! I must say, I will definitely be looking for a decent Peruvian Restaurant in the Richmond area after sampling the food. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the service was very friendly and attentive. The Peruvian roasted corn they give you when you are seated is salty and addicting! The veal heart appetizer was amazing! Very tender and well seasoned. The Inka salad was very fresh, but I wasn't expecting it to be deconstructed... I will say that the calamari I tried was very bland. My friend got the ceviche and said it was phenomenal. I REALLY regret not trying it.

Every time I've passed by this restaurant it always has a steady flow of customers, so we finally decided to give it a try. Although the inside lounge/waiting area is nicely decorated, we opted to sit outside. Not much of a view though since it is located next to an Outback Steakhouse, smack dab in the middle of a strip mall. We started off our dinner with the Parmesan crusted sea scallops appetizer and considering how DELICIOUS these were, I was really hoping the rest of our meal would be on the same level. (The scallops come out baked in real sea shells!) Unfortunately, I was left feeling a bit underwhelmed. For my entree I had the sea bass and it was okay. My boyfriend ordered the skirt steak and it was good but both dishes were certainly something we could find somewhere else for a better price and quality. Truthfully, I wasn't that impressed, the service could have been better, and the food was just okay. I think the only time I would come back to El Gran Inka would be to grab a drink and have 2 orders of the scallops appetizer. (2.5 stars)

Ceviche was amazing and tangy. The fish was super fresh as if they just fished it out of the ocean. Their entrees were beyond yummo and every single time I went back it never disappointed and was always on point.

I had the Meat Stew Inka which if you like slow food is delicious, as the result is melt in the mouth beef. Friends had the fish and steak and everyone loved it. The decor and staff are great too.

I was totally disappointed with their service this time around. Their lack of attention, service and cold food was just sad. Although it was a quite week nite with maybe 12 people in the restaurant the head waiter was very welcoming in the beginning, but as soon as some familiar clients with $$$ showed up we were kicked to the curve. He never asked if we need it additional drinks, salt or pepper, the dinner arrived incomplete, as a matter of fact the bill took to long to arrive. Needless to say it was probably one of the worst experiences of my life...do not recommend this particular restaurant.

I love Peruvian cuisine. But this place didn't make the cut for me. I did go with a group of 12 people to celebrate a birthday. It was basically a hit or miss. I ordered a cilantro Mahi mahi (read below for the story on how ordering this was). The sauce was great, and the mashed potatoes were excellent, but the mahi was tough, horribly overcooked, dry and cold. A couple more people had just average dishes, and other people that were with me really liked it. The place is nice, but the service was also lacking. When I was going to order I asked the server what type of fish was the cilantro fish he said "mahi but you can also get seabass." So I said "mahi is fine". He asked "which one," I said "Mahi Mahi". He said "YES, but which one?." I said "I don't get it, what do you mean which one?". He said "which fish??". I said "Mahi Mahi! Didn't I just tell you??". He said "YES BUT WHAT DISH!!" And I was like "didn't I just ask you about the cilantro fish???" He said "ok. So a Cilantro seabass then?". "Not seabass, man. Mahi Mahi! Cilantro Mahi Mahi"...."oh ok, ok"...I'd like to think that the guy was distracted before I adventure to say that his iq level was subpar, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt....if it wasn't because my aunt ordered a lemon chiken (which she said was excellent, by the way) with NO SHRIMP, (she is allergic)...after 30 minutes the plate comes out and guess what the chicken had on top. I can't say the guy was extremely busy (we were his only table). Anyway, I will not go back there. But I can't wait to have another conversation with that waiter

We ordered the avocado appetizer. Delicious and beautiful presentation. For the entree we ordered the seared Tuna. Big portion and fresh and cooked perfectly. Nice flavors and very light with veggies. The second entree was the salmon on yellow potatoes with a lemon caper sauce. Again fresh and cooked perfectly. So delicious. The service was good and friendly. I have been here twice and each time i am wowed by the amazing food. I have been to many many restaurants, at least 2 a week if not more and this is fast becoming my fave spot, not to mention its close by where i live. My friend with the most discerning palette i have ever known is impressed with this place also, so that says alot. I am just surprised more people are not giving this place 5 stars.

4.75 stars I went for the Miami Spice lunch menu on a saturday and had one of the best lunches ever! The ceviche was probably the best I have ever had. Even a nonceviche eater loved it. It was a white fish w/red onions, yam, & choclo (large white corn) in lime...fabulous!! I had a mahi entree which was good and had a typical Peruvian taste. Also tried the shrimp chaufa fried rice which was good and had a TON of shrimp which was very impressive. The flan was also very good. The service was EXCELLENT! She was from Colombia and absolutely so wonderful! The atmosphere is very nice with a fancy Inka feel. The only down side was the passion fruit juice we ordered was sooo expensive at $5 a glass and we had 2...no alcohol so 2 drinks was $10 :/ I heart El Gran Inka's ceviche!

My husband and I found this place on TravelZoo when we booked our trip to Florida. They had a special, similar to Groupon, so we took advantage of it since it was our first time dining in Miami. The restaurant is a bit of drive from Collins Avenue, where all the action was at and where we were staying. It's ok though because it was a hidden gem! I'm a HUGE fan of ceviche and boy did we find the best place for it! The special included four cocktails and three appetizers for $35. It was a great deal because the ceviche appetizers we ordered were fantastic! They were fresh and had the right touch of toppings. We ordered the octopus & salmon ceviche, seafood ceviche, and shrimp & scallop sizzling plate. My husband could not get enough of the octopus & salmon ceviche, he absolutely LOVED it, which is a big deal because he's not the biggest ceviche fan. Their cocktails were also PHENOM! Not only am I a HUGE fan of ceviche, but also mojitos and theirs was fabulous! Wish the special allowed more than just four cocktails, I would've ordered 10 more! :) The ambience was trendy, but not overbearing, it had the right touch. The staff was very attentive and friendly! Only reason why I gave the restaurant four stars instead of five was because without the special we had, the prices for the dishes were sort of high. Coming from California where I've had the best ceviche and for great prices, I've been spoiled. :) Overall, El Gran Inka is a wonderful place to fulfill your ceviche and mojito craving if you're ever in the Miami area!

i really have mixed feelings about el gran inka. i went on saturday night, a busy night for them i suppose, but the wait was kinda out of hand. they do have peruvian newspapers and a flat HD TV, very fancy looking but after waiting for more than 15 minutes we decided it was time to check their bar out. there was probably 3 other people sitting at the bar, but only one bartender for the whole restaurant. needless to say, he got our order taken about 10 minutes later but he apologized by saying he thought we already had been served, good one! so we finally got our table after waiting for 35-40 minutes and I was hoping the food would make it up. I ordered papa a la huancaica, the sauce was great but the potato slices were as thin as a motorola RAZR V3. I also had choros a la chalaca which were good and corvina a la chorrillana, which is a fresh steak of sea bass topped with onions and tomatoes, this dish was also good. but the fact that I waited 40 minutes to get a table, the fact that no one came to refill our glasses of water and even the bar service sucks gives this place a 3 star review. its not a very economic place either, I don't mind paying extra but when I do, I like to get pampered. I don't think im going back to this place and I can't really recommend it. theres a hundred other places in miami/kendall where you could get the same quality of peruvian dishes for half the price minus the HD flat screen TV.

Great food but the service is so bad that I don't think I will ever go back. We walked in on a Sunday night, they weren't busy and there were plenty of empty seats. We grabbed a table out side and there were a couple of bills sitting on the table... this was a sign but at the time we didn't realize it. We sat there and we were ignored for a good 5 minutes as they set up another table barely even acknowledging us. The waiter took my dates drink order but I guess I must not have wanted a drink because he never even asked me if I wanted a drink. It must have taken a good 10 minutes for the drink to arrive and by the time the guy came back to get our order I was so over the idea of a drink that I just was happy with the glass of water I had The entree came out quickly but really, I would have rather had a drink and a chance to relax rather than the entree at the time. I was out of water when the entree came and I asked the server for some more water... but I guess I didn't really want that either because it took a second request to a different server get the glass refilled. This isn't the first time we have had poor service here, the last time I gave them the benefit of the doubt but honestly, there won't be a third time.

What's GooD: The Food had a great taste. Very cuisine-type. Love the atmosphere of the place, Very fancy. THE CEVICHE IS AWESOME. What's BaD: They gave us only 2 peices of bread which were burnt, they took a very long time in giving us the food. and it's extremely EXPENSIVE. Only for the rich people.
